Procedure and operational benefits
Samples are processed identically to traditional cultivation methods. Sub-colony amounts of biomass grown on agar plates are picked and transferred to a MALDI-TOF sample plate by your medical assistant or using our automated MIROB system. Automatic measurement and identification with SARAMIS takes only about 2 minutes. Results are available electronically for use in LIM systems or as printed reports.
MALDI-TOF MS / SARAMIS offers several advantages over established processes:

- Duplicate strains are automatically eliminated, increasing hit rates in subsequent screenings
- New isolates are classified in dendrograms
